JLK To Open Applications for 2025 JLK Scholarship December 1st
Empowering Young Women in Knoxville Through Education
KNOXVILLE, TN — The Junior League of Knoxville (JLK) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2025 JLK Scholarship. Created in 2018 to support the League’s mission of advancing women’s leadership, this scholarship program empowers young women in the Knoxville area by offering financial assistance for college to help them to reach their full academic and personal potential.
Designed for female high school seniors in Knox County, Tennessee, the JLK Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to academic achievement and community service. Scholarship recipients will be honored at the JLK’s General Membership Meeting in May, where they will be recognized for their dedication to bettering themselves, their peers, and the community.
Applications will be available online from December 1, 2024, through February 16, 2025. Eligibility requirements include:
- Expected graduation from a Knox County high school in 2025
- Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate degree or two-year college program
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
The application process includes an online form, one essay, a letter of recommendation, an unofficial transcript (with an official transcript required upon award), certification by a school official, and, if available, proof of college acceptance.
The number of scholarships awarded will be based on the JLK’s annual budget, with available funds detailed on the JLK scholarship information page. Applications are due by February 16, 2025, allowing time for review and recipient notifications ahead of the May recognition ceremony.
